Bredonborough The presence of hope

11.15

Bredonborough.

The presence of hope: I feel hope whenever I experience, discover, or come across, an act of quality. When this takes the form of a book, it is of little matter whether I am interested in the subject or not. If this takes the form of a musical performance, it matters little if I like the music, or not. Recently, on the suggestion of Peter Books, proprietor of The Bredon Bookshop, I bought a superb book on a subject in which I have no interest. The bookseller bought one for himself as well, it’s just so well done.

So, on a subject in which I do have an interest, discovering a work of quality is like Christmas-has-arrived-early. Christmas is early this year, courtesy of Gert-Jan Blom.

This is the second in a series of 3 related projects, of which Mr. G’s harmonium music was the first.

The orchestral versions, of the music played at Movements demonstrations in 1923 & 1924, continues the exceptionally high standard Gert-Jan has set.
